ICYMI, we’re sending one lucky member of the Youfoodz Fam off on their Ultimate Foodie Escape.
Bruno Contente claimed the top prize and is off to Iceland to partake is some delicious, nutritious volcanic bread. Yeaaaah, you have our permission to be a little jealous.
“The Icelandic people bake bread under the molten black rock resulting in moist, dense rye bread! What could be more natural than that?” says Bruno.
Bidding Bruno bon voyage got us thinking about our own foodie holiday fantasies here at YF HQ. You shared yours, so it’s only fair that we share ours...
I'd go back to Italy, find the best local pizza place and eat some of the best tasting pizza in the world until I physically couldn't anymore! Once my pizza stomach was full, I'd hit the closest gelato bar and top it off with one of the 50+ exotic flavours waiting to be devoured! #DoubleCombo
For me, dining at Jiro with the legend and master of sushi is the ultimate foodie experience. I'd love to get lost (alone, and again) in Tokyo; hit up sake bars; do some karaoke with locals (Bieber jams, baby!); and explore the streets at night with my camera in the middle of winter listening to the sounds of the city.
The ultimate for me would be a trip to Finland, sleeping in a glass igloo at the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort after a day on a husky safari, staring up at the Northern Lights and keeping warm by drinking vodka.
My ultimate foodie escape would be in New Orleans. I love how the food there is such a unique combination of French, Cajun, Southern, and Vietnamese influences. Whether it’s the world-famous Louisiana beignets at the iconic Cafe Du Monde or a hearty Gumbo, the food culture in N'awlins is really something!
My parents used to run a yakitori bar in Japan. I’ve never been, so I'd love to go there and eat some delicious charcoal-grilled yakitori skewers in a cosy little izakaya, sippin' on hot sake alongside the local salarymen. #Kampai
When a city like Naples has actual laws governing how their pizza is made, you know they mean business! My ultimate foodie escape would be to Italy, sharing a wood-fired margarita pizza and bottle of Chianti, living la dolce vita somewhere along the Amalfi Coast.
